Hi! my name is Vann Ek and Innerfusion is my technology and design consultancy, I am a web developer, designer, occasional print hobbyist, and father. I am fascinated with technology and spend most of my time working on the web trying to find ways to improve and make everyone's life easier through designing usable and attractive websites and web applications.
I am currently Employed at Folwell Neighborhood Association managing and designing all sorts of things that are computer or web related. When I'm not working at Folwell, I do freelance and contract work for other firms and organizations and spend time with the kids and wife.
I currently have 5+ years of experience designing and developing standards compliant website (or at least aspiring to do so) using xhtml, css, and javascript. I have been spending the last 3 years consuming myself with all things ruby and rails related. Although I promote and love working with ruby and rails, I also believe it is not the right tool for everything. It has however expanded my thinking of what web development should be and has taught me much about open source and linux system administration. I have become a jack of all trades who is comfortable at the command line, designing an interface with photoshop or fireworks, or writing lines of frontend or backend code in textmate.I have been blessed with being in the positions of a designer, developer, and a manager which has allowed me consider each perspective when I work for clients or a potential employer.
